
DEAN’S AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE AND INNOVATION IN GRADUATE EDUCATION
The Dean’s Award for Excellence in Innovation in Graduate Education recognizes measurable outcomes and innovation in graduate education, from admissions through degree completion, by a graduate program. Applications may relate to any facet of the graduate education process, including outreach, recruitment through selection and admission, retention, and degree attainment, including the following:
One award, in the amount of $1,000, will be presented to the selected Graduate Program to be used for recruiting and/or student programming purposes.
Each nomination should include:
The Dean’s Award for Excellence in Innovation in Graduate Education recognizes measurable outcomes and innovation in graduate education, from admissions through degree completion, by a graduate program. Applications may relate to any facet of the graduate education process, including outreach, recruitment through selection and admission, retention, and degree attainment, including the following:
- increasing the diversity of applicants to your graduate program;
- using technology to communicate with and attract prospective applicants in new and effective ways;
- increasing the number of international students enrolled in your graduate program;
- demonstrating success in enhancing the quality of the entering class;
- improving retention of students in your graduate program;
- programmatic efforts to improve degree completion.
One award, in the amount of $1,000, will be presented to the selected Graduate Program to be used for recruiting and/or student programming purposes.
Each nomination should include:
- Nomination from a Dean, Department Chair or Graduate Program Director.
- A document (up to 1,500 words) that describes the pertinent graduate education innovation and explains why it is significant. The document should also provide a description of the measures of success and provide data relevant to those metrics.
- Letters of support (at least ONE) by a collaborating department, Center, external institution/organization, student, alumn, faculty or staff.
