As a prospective graduate student you are searching for a program that offers cutting-edge research in a supportive training environment. Our graduate program in Molecular and Cellular Biology (MCB) at Stony Brook University strives to provide students with the knowledge to become skilled experimentalists, effective communicators, and creative thinkers.
Our faculty are outstanding researchers and talented educators. The academic course of study provide students the freedom to choose from among three areas of specialization:
Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Cell and Developmental Biology, or Immunology and Pathology. This allows you the opportunity to tailor an academic curriculum to your individual research interests. In many cases, students do not select an area of specialization when they enter the program, but this will evolve during the academic and research experience.
Stony Brook's Molecular and Cellular Biology faculty provide guidance and training. In addition, all MCB students receive a full tuition waiver and an annual student stipend. Yes, your education is free and you receive a subsidy to cover living costs. I invite you to read more about our program and to contact us for application materials.
