Graduate studies in Biochemistry and Structural Biology requires the following in addition to the Graduate School admissions requirements:
1.
A bachelor's degree with the following minimal preparation: mathematics through one year of calculus; chemistry, including organic and physical chemistry; general physics; and one year of biology.
2.
Letters from three previous instructors.
3. Graduate Record Examination (GRE) General Test scores. If your bachelor's degree is from a non-US institution, a TOFEL score of 550 ( paper based ) or a 213 ( computer basaed ) is required for full support.
4.
Acceptance by the Graduate Program in Biochemistry and Structural Biology and by the Graduate School.
Applications for September admission are expected by February 1. However later applications will be considered.

Financial Support and Benefits
All students who are accepted into the program are accepted with full support including fellowship stipends and tuition waivers. The support package for the 2008-2009 academic year includes a $26,000 stipend, a full tuition scholarship, and health insurance. This same package is
provided each year to continuing students in the program. Student loans are also available.
Applicants are encouraged to apply independently for fellowships offered by the National Science Foundation and other organizations. Some of these confer a high degree of flexibility on recipients and offer excellent stipends.
